Courses and tuition

Adelaide Canoe Works not only offer the best prices and great service for all your canoeing needs, but we can also provide a series of courses to increase your paddling skills.

You can join a Kayak School and learn all the basic skills of paddling, obtain you Australian Canoeing Basic Skills Certificate, or maybe learn the basics of Sea Kayaking.

BASIC SKILLS - KAYAK SCHOOL

A day of instruction by qualified Australian Canoeing Instructors from Adelaide Canoe Works. Learn a wide range of skills to increase your paddling Enjoyment as well as keeping you safe on the water. You will learn how to control your craft using the various strokes including,

Forward paddle	Draw strokes
Reverse paddle	Emergency stops
Sweep strokes	Capsize drills
Support strokes	Rescue techniques

Kayak School is run monthly and bookings are essential. The cost is $120 including all equipment and a certificate can be obtained for $10 extra

INTRODUCTION TO SEA KAYAKING

If sea kayaking is really your passion, check out our “Introduction to Sea Kayak Skills “course that can give you a taste of sea kayaking. It allows you to learn the skills needed to handle a sea kayak in a variety of conditions. If you don’t have your own sea kayak we can supply a suitable craft for the course.

The course covers the areas of;

Revision of skills as applicable to sea kayaks	Launching and landing techniques
Sea kayak – set up and fit out	Kayak control
Rescues for sea kayaks	Towing techniques

Cost $120. Bookings essential. Pre-requisite Basic Skills- Kayak School

Rescues and Towing Course

When you need to know how to rescue yourself or others, this is the course for you. One of the most important skills in kayaking is being able to get yourself and others out of trouble. This course gives you the answers on how to rescue another craft and you will benefit from years of experience accumulated by our instructors.

Cost $120. Booking essential.

SURF SKILLS FOR SEA KAYAKS

This is a great course for those new to sea kayaking. Learn the techniques that allow you to launch and land in surf zones. A must for all sea kayakers.

The course will be run on the southern coast area.
